scholarship PROGRAM

WAC has had this wonderful scholarship program for many years as part of our community outreach.  These hardworking dedicated recipients are chosen by the WAC scholarship committee.  The chosen candidate is a student from GCC who is interested in a sports or kinesiology career plus has volunteer experience.  The recipient is awarded $500 per semester, totaling $1,000 for the school year.  For the fall semester she needs to have proof of the college she is attending plus her class schedule of 12 units. For the spring semester, she will need to be taking 12 units and have earned C or better for her fall semester grades.

The following students are some of our recent scholarship recipients:

lillian Y.

2025-2026, Physical Therapist

Tina S.

2024-2025, Physical Therapist

Faith C.

2023-2024, Physical Therapist

Jimena I.

2022-2023, Athletic Trainer

Andrea T.

2021-2022, Physical Therapist

All of the girls have been appreciative of the scholarship as expressed by Tina, our 2024-2025 recipient;

“I wanted to express how grateful I am for being selected to be the recipient of the Women’s Athletic Club of Glendale scholarship.  I am truly thankful for your generous support and was very honored to find out that I was chosen.  This scholarship will be a great help towards financing my second year at Glendale Community College.  As a student going into my second year, I am aware of the financial burden that school can have on students, and now with this scholarship, I can focus more on my studies and take the classes necessary to transfer with some relief.”

Money is raised through special WAC sales and events. The Women’s Athletic Club of Glendale is honored to help relieve some of the financial burden that these students will encounter.
